De Zorggroep

Accessible website for De Zorggroep, with smart search and a custom registration tool for events.

De Zorggroep provides care in Northern and Central Limburg, from home care and day activities to rehabilitation and residential care. Many people reach the website through their GP or the hospital, and they want to know quickly where they stand.

We designed and built the website in Statamic. Since then we have maintained it and kept building on it step by step.

The challenge

On the old website, locations and care services were hard to find. People who were referred to the site could not find what they were looking for. A large part of the visitors is older and often searches without help, so the site had to be calm and clear.

De Zorggroep also wanted to handle registrations for events themselves.

Our approach

We started with a session with internal and external stakeholders, to hear where people get stuck. That led to a new structure with entry points per audience, pages per town and a separate route for referrers. We refined the design together over a few rounds, with a lot of attention to calm, contrast and readability.

Search runs on Algolia, so visitors find the right answer even with a typo or half a word. Locations are shown on a map based on OpenStreetMap. For events we built a registration tool with features such as a waiting list and confirmation emails.
